Ski rental Chamonix
There are several ski areas to enjoy in Chamonix, a mythical resort perched at an altitude of approximately 1,000 metres, right at the foot of Mont Blanc.
Chamonix, a one-of-a kind resort
Chamonix is a legendary destination in the history of skiing and mountaineering. This is the starting point to get to Mer de Glace or the Aiguille du Midi. Chamonix has been a tourist Mecca for decades and offers a wide range of accommodations. Chamonix is a particularly cosmopolitan destination with traditional chalets, larger luxury hotels and holiday residences.
The Chamonix ski area
What makes Chamonix special is the possibility to ski in four high altitude ski areas:
• Brévent-Flégère: an area for all skiers with a breath-taking view of Mont Blanc (7 black, 6 red, 12 blue and 1 green pistes).
• Les Grands Montets: under the silhouette of the Aiguille Verte, this sector has significant vertical drops and off-piste areas that seduce freeriders from all over the world (7 black, 7 red and 13 blue pistes).
• Balme-Vallorcine: a sunny area perfect for beginners and skiers who want to improve their technique (8 red and 11 blue pistes).
• Les Houches (Saint-Gervais): a ski area in the forest for the entire family (2 black, 12 red, 6 blue and 4 green pistes).
Approximately fifty kilometres of tracks designed for diagonal sliding and skating criss-cross the Chamonix valley. With the exception of Brévent-Flégère, each of these ski areas has its own snowpark and the Grands Montets slopes even have 2 boarder cross courses.
